The fact that some people get that angry over another person obeying the speed limit laws, is a sign that they have a personal problem. They should consider therapy if they are that easily agitated. Slow down and relax, you will enjoy life more.

That's why I have my radio set to FM 91.3 while driving.

It makes the traffic stress a lot less.

We have all got places to be, your lack of planning does not obligate the rest of us to drive faster.

No thanks, the traffic in the right hand lane is usually moving slower then I am, so I'm not about to pull over just because you want to break the law.

In this thread alone, you've called people "jerks", "jerkwaters", "morons," and "nitwits," and talked about their "douchebaggery" for not wanting to break the speed limit in the left lane. And you don't think that comes across as being angry?

I'd guess that approximately 100% of the people driving in their cars (give or take 0%) have places to be, too. But some choose not to break the speed limit. That doesn't make them whatever insulting name that you call them, in my opinion.

When I lived in Colorado there was a law passed that said you could get a ticket for not "actively passing" while driving in the left lane...is there any such law in Texas? I liked this law. I'm not all about driving like a crazy motherf****r and tailgating anyone who's not going 20 over in the left lane (I drive a 20 year old 4Runner, so it's not an option for me anyway ) but come on, if you're not in the process of passing slower traffic in the left lane, it makes sense to get over in the right. Many pokey folks in the left lane are on the phone or something and just aren't paying attention to the flow of traffic. That's just asking for an easily avoidable road rage scenario.

And yeah, I realize there are going to be those drivers that don't care if you're passing, they'll still ride your ***.

The statutes give TxDOT the authority to designate some specific stretches of highway as left lane passing only, but those stretches have to be clearly labeled as such. Failing such designation and signage, the left lane is not for passing only.

And in no lane is the speed limit dispensed with, passing or not. Another part of the statute does specify that slower traffic should keep right, but that doesn't override the speed limit part of the statute.

I have no sympathy for someone who wants to drive faster.
Having driven that road quite a bit, I absolutely agree with you. It is NOT a suitable road for speeding - that's asking to be killed or a killer, in my opinion, due to the environment one is driving in.
