We sold our home in north RR and built a new one down the road- moved in here in September '10. We had thought if our old house didn't sell in the crazy market, we'd stay and put in a pool. But now with the interest rate we got, I was shocked to find when our tax appraisal came in that the mortgage on the new, larger home that we built on the larger, greenbelt lot is only about $100 more a month than our previous home.

So we probably CAN afford a pool- yay! Anyway, I've been researching the BBB for pool builders and want to have a few come out for bids- maybe pitting them against each other will get me a better deal. Of course, I want to best top quality pool I can get for a cheap as I can get it too, you know? But I also know you get what you pay for and some things we won't negotiate like gunite only, no chlorine for us, etc. Any ideas? ETA: I should add that I looked through old threads too, but maybe after a few years, people have more experiences with "after the build", etc.

I'd love happy customer recommendations as well as "don't-use-so-and-so" advice for pool builders in the Austin area.

Thanks in advance!

We used Cody and have been happy with the build and warranty work.
