Thanks for great suggestions all. I can't say we've grown weary of San Antonio- I do enjoy it, it just wasn't what I was looking for on this particular trip. We have also done Fredericksburg and Kerrville too- both great places. One of our favorite things to do in Kerrville is to go to the Gibson's. It's like a step back in time. Same with Dooley's in Fredericksburg!

Camping at Krausse Springs! It's in Spicewood just down the road from Pace Bend park on 71. It's not necessarily quiet during the day but it's very relaxing and the camping is awesome.
