...any advice on nice places for breakfast/brunch? looking for pancakes, etc.
The only I did try it's IHOP, which is overall good.
I'm looking for a place in the N-NW Austin if possible.

Thank you.

There's Original Pancake House off Parmer Rd near Metric. Yummy pancakes, decent service, and always blanketed in some kind of seasonal decor (reminds me of a small town kind of diner). They're only open for breakfast and lunch.

Jim's has good pancakes. I had some Tuesday. Two locations up north.

9091 Research Boulevard
12832 North Highway 183

Default Trudy's

I was pleasantly surprised at how good Trudy's pancakes area. After all, I would always order the Queso Eggs Benedict and never really considered the pancakes. After trying my son's one time, I was hooked! Kerbey Lane also has good ones.

The Original Pancake House on Parmer at Metric has delicious pancakes. For something more "Autinish", try The Magnolia. They are famous for their gingerbread pancakes. They have one location on SoCo, and one a bit further north.

Jim's is hard to beat for the price. 'cakes are pretty good with a bit of griddle/flat top 'character'. Sausage is OK, bacon varies but usually good. When I'm hungry, the 'two step' (or something like that) is the way to go--two cakes, two eggs, two strips of bacon or sausages...YUM-OH!

By the bye, does anyone know if the Austin Diner moved into its new place? That's another 'fun' breakfast location.

Almost forgot Manny's Uptown @ Gateway. Went there a couple of weeks ago with a Dealster-Groupon-Nabadeal-type coupon. Tasty breakfast!

I'm gonna hit one of them tomorrow after a 25 mile bike ride...gives me an excuse to pig out .

kerbey lanes food is overall mediocre, but I do like their pancakes. Their blueberry pancakes actually taste like blueberries.
