The weather is drier than you imagine and much hotter than Hawaii. Hawaii is in the 80's for most of the year and low 90's would be hot there. Here, 80's is spring/fall weather. You'll find winter far colder and more dreary than Hawaii, but there are some nice days nonetheless.

I realize this is a little more than a year old, but I hope the original poster didn't mean to say they're Hawaiian after living in HI for five years. That is **extremely** offensive - coming from a real part-Native Hawaiian now living in Austin. And anyone who lived in HI for several years and claims to know things, should know that living in HI doesn't make a person Hawaiian. The term isn't the same as calling someone Californian. Then again, I lived in CA for several years and would never call myself such. And I'd never call myself a Texan, either. And the comments about "casual" educational standards and the "bad" food also speak to the poster's ignorance. So far, HI has some of the best food of anywhere I've been, although it's very slanted towards Asia (and I mean real Asian cuisines, not the faux Thai/Chinese places that also sell sushi like you'll find on the Mainland). And "coach class wimp" - yeah, that's just elitist. I'm surprised they even lasted five years in HI, because HI is totally not about that. I'm sort of hoping they stayed in the NW...but I wouldn't be surprised if they came to Austin. Please don't bring the snobby elitism here, too - it's just fine staying up in the NW.

It's all good, brah .

"We" cut WorkingGrl a little slack when she started out with "all y'all"

Looks like C-D hasn't heard from her in a year and a half. Hope she's doing well.
