I'm surprised that nobody suggested that you go see the bats under Congress Bridge.

  • Hamilton Pool and Krause Springs as recommended.
  • Get an all over tan at Hippie Hollow.
  • Eat at one of the 3 restaurants at Oasis, TX. Alternatively eat at Carlos 'N Charlies or Iguana Grill.
  • Eat at Hula Hut overlooking Lake Austin.
  • Go to Schlitterbahn in San Marcos.
  • Tube the Comal or Guadalupe River.
  • Rollerblade at the Veloway.
  • Visit the "Wine Trail" along 290.
  • Visit Fredericksburg.
  • Hike Enchanted Rock.
  • Tour LBJ Ranch and visitor's center (State Park and National Historic Park).
That'll keep you busy. When you've done everything on the list above, let me know and I'll provide another list...

You could check out the Driftwood Vineyards or go visit Wimberley there's always a day trip to San Antonio have lunch or dinner on the Riverwalk and tour the Alamo and other SA Missions and attractions. Here in Austin there's the LBJ Library and the Zilker Botanical Gardens or the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center or take a ride on the Hill Country Flyer steam train that runs from Cedar Park to Burnet. Also in New Braunfels there's the Natural Bridge Caverns and Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch

Still close to 100 degrees at that time and I'm 'zero for two' in my last attempts to 'see the bats'. Just no action. Worth a try if you're already in the area.
