I'm looking for nicely designed, interesting furniture, maybe a little Southwestern in theme (but not OTT), maybe a little quirky, great design. I generally like Restoration Hardware but can't find the pieces I want there. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

My favorite furniture store in Austin is Collectic on Bee Caves. A bit contemporary in style, reasonable prices, very nice staff.

If you're looking for interesting furniture with a Southwestern flair, you might want to check out Primitives. It's off of Burnet Rd. We found a buffet there. Some of the stuff is a little OTT, but it appears to be good quality. It's nothing like Restoration Hardware, I must warn you. But if Southwestern is what you're looking for, you might find it there. Good luck with your search!

I'll throw in a vote for Austin Furniture Depot. It's a fun shop just to go look around if nothing else. Very unique stuff there.

Avoid Rooms to Go, they have shady business practices and do not allow any returns if you find out that a piece won't fit.
