Well, since we're re-posting things...I'd like to see the above post again too! Seriously, I do so agree with you Grasshopper. The arrogance really does get old. Why does it have to be re-posted?? Once was enough. And The Yankee comment...well, seriously minimom...we already won that war.

Texans aren't asserting any such thing, just that we are different.

We aren't northern, eastern, southern, western or midwestern. We are Texans.

If we all cry, we will get some water though, right?

I say if a Texan wants to boast about Texas let 'em. If you don't like it, there are 49 other states you can live so you don't have to hear it. Just sayin'.

I suspect that if Rick Perry gains any traction in the Republican nomination rate, we are going to see a lot more articles illuminating the "darkside" of Texas in the national news. Maybe they'll help to counter all the Top 10 Best lists Austin keeps showing up on.

Omg. Here we go again with the "If you don't like it, get out of Texas" thing. Or the Texas vs. the rest of the nation thing.

Everyone calm down. Did you notice the temperatures on Saturday? I rented tents, misting fans, etc. for my daughter's outdoor party. We actually didn't need all the extra "comfort fluff stuff" I rented. It was nice, but not necessary. So we're getting a little relief.

But it still has been brutal, and if someone wants to mention the drought, then they can. It's just conversation. If you want to hear whining, try coming to my house around 9 PM when my daughter is demanding to watch The Upside Down Show or Yo Gabba Gabba at bedtime. THAT'S what you call whining.

Or better yet...when my teenager is begging to be driven allll over town.

I think you might whine and cry when you have very high ac bills, there is a water shortage, when fire threatens your home or maybe even when it burns it down.

The "arrogance" is what built this state. If you don't like it, learn to, because it's not going anywhere. It's what Texas is all about.

OMG, another person who thinks I was saying to get out of Texas. I didn't say leave...just mentioning that there are alternatives rather than sit here and complain to the rest of us
