So I met with a company today that gave me a quote to close up squirrel entry points, remove old nasty insulation (squirrel feces/urine), and disinfect and it came to $1700. To add new insulation back in, another $1K.

Does anyone know of someone that they'd recommend that would be cheaper?

This was ATX Bat & Wildlife Control that gave me the quote. Do insulation companies do attic cleanups?

Thanks!

I know that I recommend them all the time... but if you haven't yet checked with ABC, you may want to do so. They will be lower on the exclusion/removal I think. Possibly on the whole thing. Only drawback is that you might have to call the pest control department for the removal/exclusion and the home and commercial services department for the insulation removal and replacement.

I'd recommend doing the trapping/exclusion a good couple of weeks before even removing the dirty insulation and trying to clean up. Cause if something ends up being trapped up there, you don't want to have to do the cleanup twice.

Also, I couldn't find the company you listed on Angies list, BBB, or Yelp. That is not a good sign at all; they could have been another small pest control company that changed it's name. You can easily get burned if you can't verify the company through references. If they ask for anything up front, you need to run away.

They wanted half the money up front and didn't accept credit cards.

Thanks for the recommendation... I'll call them this afternoon.
