I didn't see any smoke plumes driving south on 360 this morning. I guess the firefighters got the major outbreaks contained?? I hope

National news had incredible aerial views of DT ATX this morning. We all about fell over when we saw the smoke and how low it was. Hard to see Austin this way. Hoping they get this under control soon. I don't imagine any one neighborhood is safe. Was very distressed to hear about possibility of fire in Cat Hollow. Dear friends are there and I can't get a hold of them.

Where did you hear this??

Are you talking about Cat Hollow Drive in Austin? It has not been threatened.

There is a Cat Hollow area in Williamson County near Brushy Creek north of Austin, but I found no news about a fire there either?

I live down the street from that house. That was months ago and the burnt house still stands. Not sure why it hasn't been demolished but it's a daily reminder of what was lost that day.

Actually, as I drove east on Toll 45 to the south of that area(9:30AM Wed), the smoke was thick and dark, as though from an active fire. From my vantage point, Cat Holler or south of 620/O'Connor could have been the source. Later reports convinced me that it was drifting from Kileen/Ft. Hood area. Pretty eerie...the smoke was low and thick in all directions from that high point on 45.
