I've had my windows open all morning and now I smell smoke. I went outside and the air is hazy and the smell is stronger. Anyone else nearby see anything? I'm on edge everyday.

Yes, we are within 2 blocks of the Pocono & O'Connor intersection and just noticed the smell & haze all around our street.

I'm in between O'Connor and Great Oaks, just south of Liberty Walk. I can't see any plumes in the air but I'm going to drive around. I'm close to the greenbelt and that is making me very nervous.

It's probably just smoke being blown in from the fires up in the Killeen area.

Just heard a guy from Taylor call in to 590AM radio to comment about all the smokey haze over there.

Bad smoke here too: Hutto No reports of fires in this location though so it's coming from Bastrop? Is the wind coming from the South today? No smoke early this morning, just stared getting heavy now at 10 am. Maybe add Hutto to the title of your thread?

Smoke here in Allandale too. Haze as well. I called 911 just in case and apparently the wind has shifted and the whole city is covered in smoke. The guy I spoke to said that if there is anything new, or a COLUMN of smoke, to give them a call. Pass the word along so they don't get overwhelmed with calls....

Air Pollutant Watch List - Texas Commission on Environmental Quality - www.tceq.texas.gov If someone finds a good, current wind direction would you post it? I can't seem to find one.

In a related note, downtown Austin is now enveloped in a smokey haze. I assume the winds are blowing west right now.

This map seems to be ok. Texas : Weather Underground It appears the wind is from the North. What wildfires are in the north?

My son is driving on 360 on his way to the airport and says he can hardly see the skyline downtown because of the thick haze.
