Does anyone know anything about White Stone Oaks in Cedar Park? We are looking to buy/build within the next year and searching various North Austin/Cedar Park communities with a good school district. We are looking around the 280-300k range. We used to live in Teravista and currently are renting in Avery Ranch. We've looked at the Ranch at Brushy creek as well and liked it.. I previously read that that area floods quite a bit in whitetone. Is that still a problem? Any info on this or another community would greatly be appreciated!Thx.

Why did you leave Teravista?

Whitestone Oaks is nothing compared to Teravista as a MP community.

Default left teravista

We actually left b/c I got transferred to Fort Worth for a little while but just transferred back here. We really liked it. Your right it does have a lot more to offer as a MP community but while our kids are small we're stilll concerned about the highschool(stony point) and I heard the middle school is no that good as well. Like I said we have several years before we have to worry about High School but just want to be in an area that may have a better chance at getting better schools. We have a lot of friends in Teravista now though! Great community.

Unfortunately, I don't know anything about White Stone Oaks, but since you mentioned Ranch At Brushy Creek, I'll comment on that. RaBC is tough to beat in that you're so close to the Brushy Creek trail and kid parks there. Plus, you're not too far from the new Quarry Splash Park at Wilco Park. Parmer is a an easy alternate way to get into North Austin/MoPac while you can still cut over to 183 quickly as well. The HEB at Parmer/1431 is really nice and they have plans to expand it by 30% this year. They're putting in a new Walmart at that corner as well (not sure if I'm happy about this or not). Schlitterbahn may or may not go in on 1431 at this point. Funding has been up in the air for that for a while.

I guess my point is that White Stone Oaks would need to have some serious advantages for me to consider it over RaBC, but the Brushy Creek trail/park is the big selling point if you have kids. And I agree with the school quality of Teravista, plus the fact that they've allowed discount builders to start building in there is another negative.

Mark311,
Thanks for the info! I agree. I like the easy access that 183A has given and like RaBC as well. If I had one negative on RaBC it's the small lot size(50') but unfortunately that's what's in our price range. It looks like most of the Mp communities have the 50' ones anyway unless you can afford to step up into 350k or so. Thx again for your input!

You might find some bigger lots for resale houses in RaBC. The lot sizes do range from 50' - 90' I believe. I'm sure that a realtor can help you identify what is available.

We live in RaBC and we love it so I'm biased.

Default Ranch At Brushy Creek

Ranch At Brushy Creek would also be one of my Top picks, really good builder close outs there right now, lots seem larger, about 500 more new homes will be being built there, so a lot of growth. Avery is nice too. I have just showed 27 New homes from $250-$380 and Ranch At Brushy Creek seem to have some of the very best buys right now, with a lot of trees. They will also be building a 2nd Pool soon.

Thx LindaAustin2012..It's our top pick right now too! I just heard that they will start breaking ground on the preserve at brushy creek at the corner of Parmer and brushy Creek rd right by RaBC this month too. It's a Milestone community I believe.

Are they going to tuck it in behind the Shell station, between the apartments and R@BC? Is it going to be more apartments, homes, garden homes, what?
