I don't recall there ever being a forecast this year that forecast five days of rain at any time. I recall there being five day periods where any given day had a 10% chance of rain. Those odds mean that on a day with those types of conditions, it will rain one day out of every 10 that have those conditions.

Seems to me like the forecasts have been very accurate. When they forecast 99 or 107, it actually gets to 99 or 107. Amazing.

This same thing happened to my SIL...twice! And she was in a different house each time. Both times were in the DFW area. Always good to have insurance.

She lives SE of Dallas and was in that big band of storms that hit a couple days ago. In another home they lived in they were hailed so bad they got new roof, windows, siding and carpeting. They owned that home and had home insurance that time. She had been intending to get renters insurance but just hadn't done so yet.

That dud of a tropical storm(Don) was forecast to bring 40-60% rain chances for five days, if I recall correctly. Not a drop.

Or invest in some good surge protectors.
I go with Monster and never lost equipment yet to power outages or surges.

After the last time, they ended up getting some kind of whole house protector that ties into their electrical system. They haven't had any problems since.

I guess it depends on whose weather forecast you are seeing. I usually look at weatherchannel.com. Maybe it's time to switch.

There's a 20% chance for rain tomorrow and tomorrow night. Guess we'll see.
