Within a few weeks, I will be moving into the town Kyle, Texas. I'm not quite sure what phone services are out there. I only want internet without having a landline phone. I need some help to find a company that can provide internet service without having a landline phone. I'm looking for a good internet service provider that have good low rates.

We went with cable + broaband + cellphones (but you can also get broadband phone service).

We've used Vonage for a year now and are really happy with it. We have an Austin (512) number and one for our family back in California. The quality is decent, but it does rely on an internet connection to work.

We also use a VoIP service. We use AT&T CallVantage since it was the highest rated for quality at the time we signed up. It does require that your broadband is available for the phone to work (this also means that power is a requirement, unlike a traditional phone line).

I love all of the features that are included in the price. We did add a second number for our long distance friends for a small fee. All long distance is free, as is voice mail, "find me" features, do not disturb, etc. I love getting the voice mails sent via email so I can listen while at work without having to dial in. We have it set to ring my wife's cell phone whenever the home phone rings as well.

Most VoIP providers offer these services, check them out. I love not needing the phone company at all. They can take their smug attitudes and jump in a lake for all I care.
