In an effort to remain positive that it WILL cool down at some point, place your bet now.

By 'cool' I guess I mean daytime temps in the 70's.

I'm done checking averages for dates passed as clearly those mean nothing based on what we've survived the past three months

I'm going to say Nov 5th. It'll be hot for Halloween and then a week later fall will arrive.

Typically Oct 31st, Halloween, is the day we get a cool breeze. I am going for that.

Yep, it's usually the day after Halloween when all of the sudden the temps go down.

I say Dec 11th, 2012. Austin will set a record for having 100 degree days in every month in a year (2012) and a record for the number of consecutive months with 100 degree days. The rainfall for that same period will be approx 1.5" depending on your location (you'll get 1.5" wherever you happen to be, any other location in the Austin metro area will get 3x more).

Sorry, but I just can't see 100 degree temps especially in February - when we've had a little of snow towards the end of the month the last couple of years.

Sarcasm alert. I think he was being facetious.

October 31. As others have said, it always falls almost right on the day.

It's also rather sudden. About a 20-30 degree drop happens, as the first real northern cold front passes through. After that, the temps are fairly mild (although some cold, and sometimes a few days hot again) through April.
