Has anyone been to Dallas on a weekday recently? How is the traffic with all the new construction? My neighbor went a few weeks ago and she said it took her 6 hours. Are there any good alternatives?

I drove to Dallas last Tuesday and drove home on Wednesday. I remember there being some construction that took it to one lane coming back but it didn't slow anything down. Didn't really pay attention to time but it was smooth sailing the entire way.

Just drove to Dallas this past weekend. Yes, there is a fair amount of construction along the freeway, but I didn't encounter any slow downs because of it. Most of the construction seems to be south of Waco.
