I ended up with an inch altogether from the little rainshowers early evening to the big one that roared over in the middle of the night.

I measured an inch and a half, just from the rainstorm during the night! (I'm in SW.)

Has anyone noticed how the grass is already starting to green back up?

Wow it rained last night?!

I slept right through, that's quite unusual for me.

Yeah, it's a bit strange. Things are blooming that usually wouldn't, and about half the red oaks in our neighborhood have turned (the ones that started turning after the long period with no rain). However the red oaks that have been watered and made it to the recent rains aren't dropping their leaves yet... and it'll be December next week.

The foliage is confused.

My Arizona Ash trees are finally dropping leaves. Usually I've raked up 20 bags by September of them! I guess I'm just having to start late this year...sigh.

My superstitious mind is wondering if the long-awaited rains have anything to do with the F1 construction hold. Seems like the worst of the drought started when the thing began and returned when it was put on hold. Maybe they were disturbing happy hunting grounds

My rain gauge collected another 1.25" over the weekend. This is the greenest my yard has looked all year.
