We moved to Austin 2 months ago and are looking to purchase a home in the Legend Oaks/Western Oaks/Circle C area. One area with relatively newer houses listed is the Shadowridge crossing area, which seems to be a corner pocket belonging to Legend Oaks (specifically, the region around poncha pass south of convict hill) - feeding into Patton elementary school.

In terms of holding its value/re-saleability/safety/neighborhood, are there any differences (positive or negative) between Shadowridge crossing and rest of the Legend Oaks area? Can they be considered to be pretty much on par with each other?

Thanks in advance for any inputs.

I think that anything in SW Austin will do well as far as holding it's value. We are in a prime location. Shopping, restaurants, proximity to downtown. If you are looking in an area that goes to Bowie or Austin High, then it's that much better. I really like that Shadowridge Crossing area. We went to an open house there last weekend, and the interior was very nice! The newer homes sell especially well from what I've seen.

Don't know about resale value, but I've always loved that area. The huge yards/ lots and the uniqueness of each of the homes makes it very desireable. Add to that the fact that the houses are tucked away in a quiet neighborhood that won't ever be invaded by an apartment complex or a Wal Mart parking lot, and I think it'll do well. From what I've noticed those houses don't sit on the market long.
