I had dim sum at the Chinatown Restaurant on Mopac last weekend and enjoyed it ... actually it seemed better than I remembered it from a few previous visits. The only disappointing thing was that the pan-fried pork dumplings ("pot stickers") looked more like taquitos.

The place I used to go in Austin tended to be too oily for me, and in any case, has since closed. Chinatown works for me, but I'm also open to suggestions for new places to try.

Couple of new dim sum places are in the works -- Wu Chow, from the Swift's Attic folks, and Angry Bear on Holly from Rene Ortiz and Laura Sawicki, the couple that opened both La Condesa and Sway.

Some mixed forecasts on Angry Bear -- some say dim sum, some say Szechuan. But Wu Chow is definitely dim sum -- already sampled at a pop up.

This is an Austin forum
You obviously don't read well. I said Houston is where TEXAS dim sum lives. As in the best in Texas. And by that I meant there really is no good dim sum or thai or Vietnamese for that matter. Sadly lacking in Asian food is Austin.
