Oh boy, not another one of these threads. Threads like these are just begging for flame wars.

Well, I guess if I'm going to be honest, I would have to say the worst thing about Austin to me is the summer weather.

People moving here from Miami.

Just kidding, but I agree that a thread built on such a negative premise probably won't turn out well. It's basically just opening up a thread to hear a bunch of ranting that may or not have any substance behind it.

My husband would say a tie between the summer weather and allergies...which is why he wanted to leave. There are many, many positives though and if you're moving to TX in the first place, you obviously know about the weather. Austin is a fantastic place to live IMO!

The heat.

Going outside at 10 pm, in the dark, and it is still 101 degrees is not okay.

For me it's the traffic. It wears my patience very thin. As far as the heat goes, last year was THE WORST SUMMER ever on record. Normally, I can take the heat but last year put me over the edge.

I would have to say the allergies. They can be pretty debilitating, no exaggeration.

Overall, it's great here.

Summer extreme heat, no rain... BUT I've only spent one summer here and it was way above average.
