The warm/hot weather. Yes that includes the 100 degree days. Some of us enjoy them, mostly for the evening when you can spend time outside not layered up and be warm.

The most active cycling city in the south.

Eating phenomenally good Japanese food with two new friends from London, one old friend from Paris, all in town for SXSW, along with two local friends.

Maybe we can do better with this thread. Please no personal attacks between California and Texas. If you can't be nice then please don't post anything.

So what's the best thing about living in Austin?

Thanks,

Joe

Ok I can't resist! The winters?? R U kidding me? The wind, the frequent temperature changes, the nearly constant cloudy weather??? Really?? Quite honestly, the winters are probably the WORST season in Austin. Sure the summer is hot, but at least it's consistant and you see the sun on a daily basis

I'll take 'frequent temperature changes' and 'cloudy' over the Northeast any day of the week.

where did you go?

We tried to go to uchiko last night at 6:00. Normally we can get in with a 15 minute wait, it was 1.5 hours!
