Amazing, 11 days ago we had a low below freezing. Ice in my bird bath.

Yesterday I went sailing on Lake Travis for 4 hours, good winds and got a mild sunburn. High of 86. I love Austin.

Yes there is still plenty of water to sail in, and hardly any other boats are out. Its a wonderful time to enjoy the lake.

Yeah, but it will probably be back down in fifties or sixties tomorrow. I heard we'd have a low in the forties tonight. Enjoy this touch of summer before the cold comes back.

If you are a native to the southern states you know that this weather is nothing unusual. I have lived in the south all my life from Florida to Texas and it's the same every year...hot one day, cold the next, one year you may wear shorts on Christmas day, the next you wear a sweater in May. Southern weather patterns just give southerner's something to talk about.

We 'should' have one more February day hitting 90 if our experience holds. Problem is, the weekends haven't been all that great. Been trying to get a friend to come spend a few days enjoying our early spring, but we can't seem to string 3-4 in a row. Oh well, summer will be here soon enough.
