Forget the kids! It's kick *my* behind.

I have to get my daughter from Wells Branch to Burnett & Anderson by 8am. That will only get worse once we move to RR.

At least it's on my way to work and it forces me to work "in early, out early" work hours.

I don't like it. I was shocked to find out it was 7:45am (in RR). In NJ, HS started at 7:20. The Elementary kids weren't even getting up yet so there was no worries about driving. Middle school started at 8:00 & Elementary not until 9:25! And there were buses! There was never a daily traffic jam unless it was raining/snowing. My son made it through the system, the kids didn't stay up that late on nights knowing they'd have to be up at 6:30am the next day. It was much better. It prepares them for the real world getting up early, of course unless you work nights like me! We are SLOWLY adjusting with my 1st grader!

Here in California, the elementary starts @ 9 and out at 3:15 for 1st-5th grades. Kindergarten is half day (which is a waste of time....we have our son in a private kindergarten 8:30-2:30) MS is 8:15-2:45 and HS is 7 something til 2:15 or 2:30......

I amok with the early, i just thought 7:45 was a little too early, besides the older kids should be up earlier IMO, that would prepare them for the real world!!!! Not our little ones, they have plenty of preparation for that!!!

I have to leave my house 30 minutes early to get him there, with traffic and travel, so i guess if we lived close to a school, we could leave a little later, so i guess it could work out the same, maybe????

You mean you don't walk to school? I guess I forgot to mention that is one of the perks we discovered here in TX. Living in a great neighborhood, and walking to school in about 5-9 minutes depending on how many people we stop and talk with. Sorry, maybe that is rubbing it in.

That's funny! That's one reason I like the neighborhood I'm in right now. The grade school/Kindergarden and Middle School are right down the street (can see it from my front yard) and the High School is across the highway. So walking to school is definitely in the near future.

Steiner, i would love to walk my kids to school, but we live in Wine Country Temecula, a little far......I (hope) it is one of the things i will enjoy about a tract house, hopefully that is not the ONLY thing!!!!

Better people, Freinds, Kids for my little ones ot play with, and not a bunch of snotty people!!!
