Hello,
We moved to Austin last year, and we are leasing right now within the Eanes district.
We have 3 kids, 9, 6 and 2 this summer. We dont want to stay in an apartment and instead buy a house; buying a house within this disctrict is cost prohibitive for us.
We have visited some options:

-circle C and public schools there
-any other places and putting our kids in Brentwood Christian School
Any comments in this school would be helpful taking in consideration that our kids are coming from Eanes Elementary
-academically level
-values, etc

Thanks!!

Default Circle C schools are good

I have kids that went through Circle C schools, including Kiker, Bailey MS, Gorzycki MS and Bowie HS. I would say save your money and go public down in Circle C. There are two new elementary schools, Clayton and Baldwin and I suspect those two as well as the more well established schools are as good as you are going to find in the public schools. I think Bailey MS is now out of the picture with Gorzycki MS getting all the Circle C kids.

Only advantages I can think on the private school for elementary would be ability to include religion into the school day (if that is important to you) and maybe lower student counts in each classroom. You would have to decide if that is worth the cost. For me it did not make sense. The schools were too good to even consider private schools.

From what I can tell, all the schools get a high level of involvement and support from parents, with lots of daily volunteers. As lean as the school budgets are, that makes a big difference.

If you are serious, I would contact the schools and ask for a tour.

Default Circle C Schools

I also have kids in the Circle C schools - Kiker, Gorzycki, and Bowie. We have had fabulous experiences at all 3 schools. Our kids are ages 8 to 19 (one graduated last year) and they are a wide range of artistic, brainy, social, and even 1 special needs (Aspergers and ADD). The schools have served all them, and we love the area.

Save your money and stay where you are. More opportunities in public school, and Christian is only in the name of the school. Like all private schools they tend to post about the 5% that over achieve and those would do so anywhere.
