Recycling in Austin? (coupons, apartment complex, school)

Out of curiosity, where do I take the following for recycling in Austin -

General electronic equipment - old table fan, table lamp etc
Computer equipment - old keyboard, mice, printer cartridge etc
Magazines - Tons of reader's digest, national geographic and the like
Paper - Newspapers, coupons in the post, random envelopes and letters
Shredded paper
Boxes - Cardboard boxes like boxes when ordering stuff from Amazon, lots of items bought in walmart (cereals, pasta, toothpaste)

I know these things can be recycled. I am not really looking to make money out of it (although it would be nice if I could ), but I just want to be kinda "environment conscious" and want to make sure they go to a place where it really can be recycled.

Oh and some additional information - I live in an apartment, and I don't have a garden / lawn / compost area etc. Additionally, there's a "recycle" bin in one corner of the apartment complex, but half the time there is some thing or the other that is not recyclable and that kind of turns me off from putting my recycle material in there.

Do you not have recycling bins at your apartment complex? That would take care of the newspapers, magazines, small cardboard packaging and boxes. If not, take the boxes to any Randall's. They have a cardboard recycling bin out front. Take the paper to the paper recycle box at nearly any school and many churches. As people have suggested, electronics can go to Goodwill. I don't know if they would take something like a broken fan. I guess you could call them.
