So on Silverway Drive in Allendale there is a bridge for pedestrians. However aerial photographs of the location in 1973 show a vehicular bridge built in it's stead. The 1985 pictures I could find of the location showed just a pedestrian bridge.

So my question is was the bridge one of the bridges heavily damaged in the 1981 flood? My bet is yes, and that they decided not to rebuild it since it really did very little for the neighborhood and the costs were already so high associated with the flood.

Anyway, if anyone knows the answer to this question I would very much appreciate it.

Thanks!

That theory makes sense to me. This Allandale history page says the ped bridge was built in 1985. http://allandale.typepad.com/allanda...istory0801.pdf
