I have finally considered relocating to the Round Rock, Cedar Park, Pflugerville area in June. Because of the short time I am unable to travel there before moving. I need to know a safe area with great schools, and areas to stay away from. I am 35 single mother of two 16 and 5 years of age. I need a three bedroom 2 bath for no more than $1100 would prefer to stay under that. I am a remote employee so travel to and from work is not a concern. I am also interested in renting town-homes and duplexes. I have seen a lot of apartment Realtor for free, has any one experience success using them. Since I'm single I don't want to be to far from night life as well as not to far for family activities.

Please any information you guys can help me with is appreciated.

All of those areas have pretty good schools, I wouldn't say that there are any areas that would be totally undesirable - depending, of course, on what you're looking for.

Flying blind is a bit tough - I know first hand! Worst case, you're in a rental that you can get out of to find something you like better. Apartment locator services do work, but they are usually limited to the big corporate apartment complexes that they have deals with, so you might miss the duplexes and houses that could be on the market. I'd give one or two a call and also try austinhomesearch.com

Have you tried looking at the Leander area? It's a little further North, but it's a nice town. You should be able to find something there in that price range.
