We have narrowed our search to the Westlake area but need your feedback about preschools in the area. We are looking at both Lost Creek and Rollingwood neighborhoods for our future home in the next year or two. We have a two year old, but looking for the school year when he is three. I am planning to visit all the schools and get on the waitlists but would appreciate any positive or negative feedback about any of them.

We are looking for a Christian based school, great curriculum, fun and safe environment for the kids, parent involvement in the classroom or special events, events/festivals that include the families, field trips or special events for the older classes, and kids that will hopefully feed into a similar elementary.

I believe we will be sending our kids to Eanes but it will depend on their personalities and learning style too. But which preschools tend to feed into Eanes and/or which private schools?

Here is the list we have so far:
Westlake Hills Presbyterian
Westlake United Methodist
St. Michaels Episcopal
Shepherd of the Hills (Butterfly Preschool)
St. John Neumann

I am open to driving a bit if needed:
Good Shepherd Episcopal (Tarrytown)
Tarrytown United Methodist
Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian

Did I miss any great schools?

Thanks again for the valuable insight!!

When we moved here couple of years ago, I sent my daughter to Child's Day and they are pretty good.

Child's Day

And the CDC program of the public school is also good.

We got in them, via a long waiting list.

There's not really a set pattern about which preschools feed into Eanes' schools. There are so many preschools that the kids come from, including several that are on your list. I think your choice should come down to what you are looking for in a preschool and putting your child on the list there so they can get a spot when you want them to start.

There are a few preschools that tend to feed into the Episcopal private schools. Those would include Good Shepherd, All Saints and St. Matthews.

Thanks again! I visited them last week and narrowed down our selections. They all are great but highly recommend to others to visit them to see if they are a fit for your kids/family.
