Can you get a good burger in Georgetown? Or good tex-mex or barbecue?

Here's a pretty good list.

City of Georgetown, Texas - Convention & Visitors Bureau - Restaurants

I like Casa Ole in the new Wolf Ranch shopping center and Mamita's. I've never been to Dos Salsas, but that is a very popular place.

Default BBQ, Tex-Mex, Burgers?

Thanks- Does it come close to places in Austin?

Like Hut's for burgers or chicken fried steak or Chuy's?
By the way, what are the best recommendations for BBQ and Tex-Mex in Austin or other areas?

I think Moonie's Burgers in Cedar Park is better than Hut's. Hut's is a close second in my opinion. Moonie's is fairly new and a lot of people in Austin don't make their way that far up into Cedar park too often, so it doesn't get as many good reviews.

Trudy's is great for Tex-Mex. You won't have any trouble finding good Tex-Mex in most areas of Austin.

I second Moonies! Great burgers..even my relatives from South Austin that do make it here (Since we all know that South Austin is the end all of be all! LOL) love Moonies. They were sure in the mood not to like anything "up north" but they actually loved Moonies and the kids love it.

Is Cedar Park close to Georgetown? On mapquest it says 16 miles which does not seem that close, although closer than Hut's.
Also, is Trudy's in Gtown?
Sorry for the ignorance but if we move to Georgetown we are really hoping to have really local places to go- without driving 16 miles or into Austin for everything.

Make peace with it now - TX is spread out. You will drive 20-30 mins to many things, on a really often basis...

Jenbar's right...we don't hesitate to drive 20 minutes to get something to eat. And northern Round Rock is only 5 minutes from downtown Georgetown. Chuy's is there and also my favorite, La Margarita.
