I'm from the midwest and since I moved to Texas, I cannot find anywhere that serves a pork tenderloin sandwich. This was a staple where I come from. Plate sized fried tenderloin on a tiny hamburger bun...

Does any one know any place that serves this?

This is the tenderloin they serve at the Bar & Grill in my town. Unfortunately I'm not anywhere near Austin, I just wanted to show the non-midwesterners what you're talking about.

I've got a sister in Minnesota and a niece in Colorado that have similar tenderloin withdrawals, so I'm aware of what you're going through.

I honestly think that a midwestern tenderloin place would be a huge hit in parts of the country where folks haven't been exposed to them.

Before I found them the previous best I could do for a pork tenderloin was Porky's, on the far side of Fredericksburg.

Here in beef land, pork takes the hind quarter...

I'm not familiar with the tenderloin sandwich...I'm just very happy to find PULLED pork (or carnitas) at a few places .

Maybe the Bluebonnet Cafe would be up to the challenge. Even though they've been in business over 80 years, perhaps they would consider a 'special' special from time to time. Heck, to keep from offending the locals, have them call it 'chicken fried pork' and see what happens!

Now that I think about it, a schnitzel on a bun sounds pretty good! However, I'm losing my taste for Texas toast and plain white buns...just ask them to leave off the bun!

You're right. Never heard of them, but I found their website. The photo look promising, but ixnay on the suggested condiments. I like mine Deluxe... lettuce, tomato and mayo

I'll have to try them out next time I'm in Austin.

Culvers Menu: Stop by Culver's today for lunch or dinner.

I've had it many times. I like it a lot but it is the only version I've tried. It is pretty huge.
