Anyone else get a hike in their trash collection fee this past month? Mine went up about $3 this past month due to gas prices they say

I haven't gotten this month's bill yet, so I don't know.

I wish the city let you combine two houses onto one account. Saves an extra truck stop. Like, our next-door neighbors and we rarely make 32 gallons of trash per household every week... one can would be enough. Would be more green

At least you have the option of the 32 gallon bin. My neighborhood has trash pickup and water through a management company and they require the 96 gallon bin. It's usually about 15% full when it's emptied but I have no option of using (and paying for) a smaller bin.

Where are you located? It doesn't sound like you are service by the COA...

Ironically I live right next to the landfill off 290 and Springdale. I'm in the city of Austin but supposedly because its a gated community the CoA won't service it. I have to get water and trash collection through PGMS who conveniently takes extras fees onto it.

I'm curious whether people serviced directly by CoA got the rate increase

I would have to look the next time I get the bill. Since it is in with water, elec., etc., it is not immediately obvious unless I look for the waste portion. That said, it has not changed over the last year or so last time I checked (a couple of months or so ago).
