I've seen that on a lot of listings for housing and have no clue what it is. How is that area?

The Arboretum is a shopping area. It is full of places to eat and shop. I have never understood the big deal, but a lot of people I know love it. It is close to Mopac, 360 and 183 so living around there makes travel easier. There are several other places opening like it so I am betting in 2-5 years "The Arboretum" won't be such a big deal.

Yes, do that.
I've never seen a more inappropriately named shopping center or one less deserving of its hype.
It's just a high-end (sort of) strip mall - with some nice landscaping.
One would think that it is a highly sought tourist attraction from the way it is talked about.
I never understood why The Arboretum is a big deal - still don't.

It will be interesting to see how the Domain will affect the Aboretum area. I know several shops have moved over to the Domain.

I agree with you Txstar. I noticed that several of the shops left already and you know the rest will go soon. Just look across the street where Home Depot used to be- 200,000 sg ft building empty. Across the street from there. Borders left.

Yeah, i went there a couple of times for the Barnes & Noble/Borders (nearby). It's an outdoor strip mall where the stores are in sort of a cluster and you walk around the outside edge. Poor design IMO. Since the bookstore left, I haven't been back. They need a total tear-down and redesign to compete with the Domain and other "lifestyle center" mall.
