We are moving to Austin and I am wondering how the Austin City College is? Is it nice? Does it have a good reputation? Does it have anything that is especially known for? Do alot of ACC kids transfer to UT?

Thanks for the help!

Austin Community College is like any other junior college - about half the students drop out without finishing any degree program at any college.

My mother-in-law has taught there for 15 years after 10 years teaching at Anderson High. She said the students were better at AHS.

I know of a few guys who had aspirations for UT, did many papers at ACC and then transferred the credits to UT. Its a great way to save money as ACC fees are 1/4th or even less that of UT.
ACC does have elaborate campuses at different corners of Austin.
My wife who studied there had high opinions for some of the lecturers.

ACC is what it is- a way to take classes to get into another school, or a place to take cheap classes to move up in your job. I started taking classes there last summer. At 32 I am the oldest person in any of my classes but I could care less. My buddy takes his classes @ St. Ed's and pays so much more it is crazy to me.
