Hi all,

After searching both Yelp and Angie's List, I still cannot find a reliable contractor to do the garage floor epoxy coating. Do you have any contractor you can recommend? Thanks much!

If you have some time, dig around this site a bit. There are plenty of Texas folks on the forum and more info than you'll need. I don't know if they list any local contractors, but I'm sure the members would be willing to share that info.
Flooring - The Garage Journal Board

Having said that, if your garage is new, I'd be all over a DIY application.(and save over half the $) I don't 'think' it's too late/hot to work with most of the flooring, but some seem to be temperature sensitive(as in--Don't apply when temps will exceed 90F).

I can check with the neighbor across the street re: his non-shiny, small aggregate floor that looks darned cool. I know it was expensive, but the contractor likely does all types.

The materials to do one coat of epoxy yourself run about $80 for an average size 2-car garage. If you want the shiny, 'car dealership' 2nd coat you're looking at double that. I don't think heat matters a ton but humidity does - don't do it when it's wet out.

Our house is not new (built in '89) so we are thinking about hiring a professional for the job. Thanks.

Default Garage Experts

We used these guys. Their SA office covers Austin, and did a fantastic job. Even our builder envies our floor (installed the day after closing).
