Are there any parks for people who like to levitate for 30 seconds or more? I used to do this stuff in California, and I might get back into it.

Murchison Middle School has a big hill they use to teach hang-gliding, and I know there is some para-sailing out on lake Travis (when there is water).

The wind here is pretty gusty, it really isnt safe to do it here. I kitesurf at lake travis and you can boost 30-40 feet in the air.

There is a power kite club that I think meets at old settlers park in round rock and some of the kitesurfers land buggy at zilker. However I have found the wind at zilker to be very swirly

Personally I wouldnt do that here.

I think it's a fair question on this board. In fact if you try to google it, it doesn't seem like anything related comes up other than his initial post.

There's a lot of kitesurfing on Lake Pflugerville, but it's pretty gusty wherever you go, as Austin97 said. We're too far inland for consistent wind.

I got that, but I thought it wasn't a very Texas friendly when someone is asking for help, and then somebody else says the equivilent of "look yourself". And again Google didn't really yield anything.

Actually, the link I attempted to post was broken when I tried to shorten it on my phone - didn't realize that.

I had found a link to the Zilker Park group and was posting that on the off chance that they had something similar to what the OP was looking for - a long shot, but if any area would have something like that I thought of Zilker.

Nor is it very friendly to assume intent. And google does yield quite a bit if you look up "power kite", "kite boarding" or "kite jumping".
