Since the Austin Food truck scene is always changing, I thought it might be useful to have a place to log openings, closings, changes...

The East 6th St at San Marcos location that once held 6 or 8 trucks, including the outstanding Love Balls Bus is now an empty lot again.

The East 6th St. at Waller location (other end of the block from East Side Showroom, next to the dive bar Cheer Up Charlie's) is still operating, with maybe 8 - 10 trucks.

Saw a sign for a new location at the Y at Oak Hill - just west of the Y on 290 by Don's BBQ.

Turns out Love Balls is now parked at 2906 Fruth Street... a block east of Guadaloupe, just north of 29th, by 29th Street Ballroom, near Spider House. Love Balls

From Man Up Texas BBQ:

Austin is about to get yet another BBQ joint. Woodpile BBQ, a new project for Driftwood-native Levi Smith, will serve from a trailer on the Westbound side of Hwy 290, not too far past the Y in Oak Hill. As for what Woodpile BBQ is about: "Woodpile BBQ is owned by Levi and Rachel Smith, parents of two beautiful girls and longtime residents of the Austin, TX area. Levi manages the company and serves as pitmaster. Their vision for Woodpile BBQ goes beyond the initial Saturday lunchtime only service. If enthusiasm is strong, Levi and Rachel plan to open for lunch on weekdays too and make Woodpile BBQ brisket and ribs available in local grocery stores and through local delivery services and national mail order. Levi and Rachel want to make getting exceptional, all natural barbecue convenient without compromising simple and traditional techniques." Check out their menu, & find them on Facebook & Twitter. Good luck, Levi!

After some changes, the Red's Porch-owned lot (adjacent to the restaurant) has turned into an awesome little trailer park. Gone is Bella Cucina Italian (RIP), and in its place are: Boxcar Bistro (French), Honky Tonk Hot Dogs, Trai Mai Thai, Tacos La Guera, and Collie's Burgers. I've had the latter three and all are excellent.

Red's has really spruced up the place, adding a white picket fence, lots of tables and shade, and a covered stage for live music. Oh, and a name: "South Lamar Trailer Bazaar".
