I just graduated from veterinarian school this past May. I am 27, and have lived in Baton Rouge, LA my entire life. To sum it all up, I HATE Louisiana, lol. The people, the weather, the government, all of it (no offense to anyone who does live here). I have always wanted to move away from home, but not too far away, so if something ever occured, I could be home soon. I really like the Southwest US. Texas, and Arizona to be specific. Is Austin a good place for a newly graduated young adult? What is the economy, people, food like, etc? Thanks? Any nice cities outside of Austin? Is Arizon nicer than Texas in your opinion? Thanks.

If you can find a job, it's great. Everything else can be answered by searching. Arizona is very very dry, just keep that in mind.

You don't really hate the food in Louisiana, do you? I joke that we should give Louisiana back to France except we would have to keep the chefs and Dr. John. We paid too much for an area with so much underwater!

Just kidding....

But Austin is a great area for a young adult. So much to do for people your age. I don't know about jobs for veterinarians - but this is a pet friendly area. I generally prefer my vets to come from Texas A&M instead of LSU! But otherwise come visit and see for yourself.

It's not A&M!

Just giving you a hard time....

Most of the vets in Texas went to A&M for vet school. If not A&M, I think they went to LSU.
