Finally, we are moving! But we have to stay somewhere for few days before closing. I'm in search for hotels with pets friendly policy and big parking lots where I can park 26' Penske truck with car carrier... I'm not looking for fancy, but looking for safe neighborhood so I can sleep without worrying for my stuff in the truck.

Would appreciate any input or recommendations based on personal experience.

American Toy Fox Terrier, she is about 6 lbs. And Lab, he is about 75 lbs. We are travelling with cages for both animals.

I'd try to stay in the Arboretum area, in north Austin. There are several hotels with parking lots that might accomodate your truck. A couple of hotels in that area mentioned accepting dogs up to 80 lbs...Candlewood Suites and Staybridge. Should be in 78759 or 78731 zip codes. I'm not sure which.

Appreciate your input! Unfortunately both of those chains are charging like $100 per pet per stay... Way too expensive.

Try Value Place in Round Rock. Weekly rental, parking for big truck, dunno about dogs.

One alternate I can think of... board the dogs at a kennel as soon as you arrive. That would dramatically free up your lodging choices.

Studio 6 off of 183 (north of Duval) was where we stayed when we first arrived with our zoo of 2 dogs and 2 cats. I do think we had to pay a pet fee for the bigger dog (110 lb German Shepherd), but it was not that much (maybe $20, and it was a one-time fee).

They did have a few moving trucks in the lot.

Good luck!

They are not allowing pets... And kennel is out of questions.
