Anyone know when this New Alamo Drafthouse by Lakeline Mall is going to be completed?

Some time ago, 'they' spoke of a fall completion for HEB and Alamo. Not sure about the other spaces(BB&B, SteinMart, et al). That doesn't narrow it down much; but I was surprised they didn't just say 'by the end of the year'. They're moving right along, however. Of course, they could throw in a TCBY to slow things down.

I'd sure be shooting for pre-Thanksgiving for any retail, but they didn't ask me . For sure, the ONE day of rain hasn't slowed them too much!

Rereading the old press release, I get that HEB is scheduled to open in November, with "other buildings" to follow. Alamo is in another building, #G, at the opposite corner of the development. Since Alamo hasn't issued any news since the original announcement in March (that I can find, anyways) I'm guessing maybe Spring 2013.

Between two Drafthouses and a Galaxy theater, NW Austin & SW Cedar Park will not be starved for combination movie theater restaurants.

It would be interesting to get word from the "horse's mouth" re: the future of the existing Alamo. That whole center is a parking fire drill, but the disappearance of SteinMart(AND Alamo?) would leave it looking pretty darned abandoned. I'd hate to see it sit empty like the Albertson's space (south on 183) did for years. More room for Trader Joe's to move to the north side!

The original announcement indicated they would keep both locations open.

Makes sense to me... one to serve northbound traffic, one for southbound.

I keep hoping Trader Joe's is the grocery store planned for the Trails at 620 shopping center. It'll probably wind up being a Sprouts or Newflower though...

That would be awesome if Trader Joe's came North. My understanding is that it is currently planned for Downtown though.

I'm sure it will do well, so maybe a second store will follow quickly.

I can't wait for the new Alamo. The new one they opened on Slaughter/Mopac is great. I'm sure the CP one will be like that or better.

The shopping center where the existing Alamo Drafthouse Lake Creek resides originally had a Randalls grocery store in it where Hobby Lobby is right now. There never was a lot of business in that store but that was back in the late 1980s. I would hate to see another grocery store setup shop where SteinMart is right now and later have to close their doors. Makes little sense to me to place a grocery store there today given the fact that Walmart and Super Target are nearby. Also, if the old existing HEB on Lake Creek Parkway does not close with opening of the new HEB by Lakeline Mall then thats more reason for a grocery store to not take SteinMart's old place. We will see what happens. I cannot wait for the new HEB and the new Alamo to be completed. They will both be very close to my house without having to cross any major highways.
