I am purging my daughters' rooms of a ridiculous number of stuffed creatures. Most have been barely touched and look brand new. I can just drop them off at Goodwill, but I was wondering if there is a children's charity that could use them - a shelter perhaps or hospital.

If anyone is aware of such an organization, please let me know.

I gave some several years ago to Any Baby Can, the Austin Childrens Shelter, the Baptist Children Home in RR. I tried giving them to Ronald McDonald House, but it was around christmas time and they were overflowing with donations. I'm sure that isn't always the case.

Many of the Police departments in the area (CP/RR/APD) will take them for use with children who are either victims or unintentional victims/bystanders. There was a charity donation drive started by a grade school kid from CP a couple years ago that gas gained some traction.

You also may want to check out a number of the family shelters around, they can use anything.
