Holy guacamole! Could they make it any MORE confusing?

Folks with auto-irrigation get to use their system on the proper WEEKDAY and use hose-end sprinklers on the proper weekEND day; while folks without auto-systems can only use hose-end on the weekEND day. I don't believe 'they' thought this through.

We moved to bubblers, it looks like bubblers are "exempt from the watering schedule". Does this mean I can use my bubblers everyday?

Well if they don't notify people, people won't know about it. So, whatever.

Bubblers and other micro-irrigation emitters are used for trees and shrubs, not lawns. It's lawn irrigation that is the issue here, because it accounts for such a huge chunk of the water usage in the region.

Sorry, but the long-standing legal principle that "ignorance of the law is no defense" applies here. The City has pushed the info out on TV and in the papers, and it's online. Now it's up to residents to respond as they will. Based on previous discussions here, if you care about this matter you might consider getting out to knock on your neighbors' doors at 5:01 am if they somehow did not get the message.

Helpful neighbors will help you out by letting you, er rather, the authorities know.

Where do get that information, the press release just states automatic irrigation systems and doesn't distinguish between drip and tradition lawn irrigation.

This is from the Austin Water site:
  • The use of drip irrigation is exempt from the schedule, due to increased efficiency.
  • For the purposes of watering trees only, soaker hoses may be used under the drip-line of the tree canopy or you may use your automatic tree bubblers. Irrigation of trees in this manner is exempt from the watering schedule
