Amazing, looks like the squall line is being blocked to the east by IH-35...it's following it almost exactly at this point. Toll 130 is gettin' clobbered right now.

Update 11:58: “Thank you all for your patience,” UT President Bill Powers said as he entered the AT&T Center for a news conference. “We’re safe.”

UT students and staff are being allowed to return to buildings.

Update 11:39: University officials just posted to Twitter: “All activities except classes will resume at 5 p.m. Buildings may be reentered at noon. Today’s classes are cancelled.”

Update 11:34: The LBJ Library and Museum will be closed today and will repoen at 9 a.m. tomorrow, an official said.

Just a big inconvenience really. The authorities reasonably couldn't ignore it...but let's just say there's a reason they evacuated the buildings only ten minutes before the bomb was supposedly going to go off even though they had known about the threat for an hour and a half.

I was at the JJ Pickle Research campus (of all days!) and we were notified to evacuate at about 9:50am. It was cold, drizzly and nasty out there....still chilled to the bone!

Somebody just didn't want to take their 3 weeks test after spending the evening at the Dog & Dug Pub.

Apparently people at two other universities in Indiana and North Dakota had the exact same idea.

Has a bomb threat ever been real? I mean if someone has the intention of blowing something up I doubt they would call ahead a nd give notice to evacuate people. What kind of jihadist does that?
