This "church" is located near 45th street in central Austin.

OK I thought this was going to be a fun experience but it wasn't. I must be Christian to the core because going to this was a borefest. I am not sure what these people believe in but it was tedius and boring experience. The lecture was on depression, having a degree in psychology, I was excited. Unfortunatly the person giving the lecture gave it only from her point of view.
It really wasn't inspiring or interesting or enlightening. It was far too basic and generic for me.

This is called a "church" I guess because it has some church qualities to it. Such as greetings, singing a hymn, some prayers about love, and offering of money. But there was really no religious or spiritual qualities about the church. I am not sure WHO or what they were praying too. LOL. But they did have insence lit which was burning my nostrils throughout the lecture. Some people were asked to light candles for who knows what reason.
This just seemed all so silly!!!

So I will not be returning. This place just wasn't for me at all.

I have not been to that Unitarian church, but I was a member of the First Unitarian church in Providence, RI for several years and now attend the Live Oak Unitarian church in Cedar Park.

It sounds like you don't have much background or experience with Unitarianism? Were you just looking for a new Unitarian chuch or exploring Unitarianism as a religion? I can't speak to that particular church since I haven't gone there, but what you describe does sound like a fairly typical Unitarian service. I don't want to make this all about religion, being the Austin forum thread and all, but if you are still looking for a Unitarian church, I like Live Oak. If you were just going to check out Unitarianism, then maybe it's not for you.

Right, I was just testing Unitarianism out. I thought they might say something interesting about Christianity. I am Christian.

Gotcha. Well, yes, you won't find Jesus Christ or even (usually) God mentioned in a Unitarian service. Most Unitarians would agree that we are not a specifically Christian sect. Usually you will find Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Muslims and even atheists in a Unitarian congregation. So if you are looking for a Christian service, then you probably won't love Unitarian services.
