I am a Stay-At-Home Mom to four sweet little Girls ages 9, 4, and identical twin 2 1/2 year old's.

My dear Husband recently received a new position at work & with it came a really nice relocation package to Austin!!!!

We currently reside (for 12+ years) in a beautiful, planned community near Orlando. We will be leaving our beloved family & an amazing support system behind when we move. Thankfully, we absolutely LOVE Austin and are very excited about this new adventure and *BONUS* my Parents PROMISED they will join us in near future. LOL

Our oldest Daughter (4th Grader) currently attends Catholic School here in Florida & we are strongly considering Holy Family in Austin so are interested in Neighborhoods near that vicinity. We absolutely LOVE Steiner Ranch but it would be a commute both to the school & my Husbands Employer (in Round Rock) so are looking at other options.

When my Hubby was there recently for business he checked out Georgetown (ruled it out), Twin Creeks (LOVED it, but home lots he really liked are not avail at time as builder went bankrupt??), Crystal Falls (thought it was a little remote), The Ranch at Brushy Creek (loved it).

We are looking at 5 bedroom homes as we will need space with four kiddos & family/friends visiting & such. Our current home is 3,000 sq. ft. soo looking for a bigger home media/game room & back yard is a MUST!

We LOVE Drees Homes and understand there are a few "new" homes available in Brushy Creek, also have learned of new Northwoods at Avery Ranch development (to be built). Standard Pacific seems to be building a few nice homes at "The Reserve" and "The Domain" at Brushy Creek, aside from reading about online know little about this builder?

Also, have found a few communities online ie "Sarita Valley" in Leander and "Behren Ranch" that look really nice. Anyone familiar with those areas?

We will be coming in a few weeks to look at homes and would VERY much appreciate any information you would like to share!

Thank you!!!!

It would be helpful to know where in RR your hubby is working...RR is fairly spread out and can be accessed from a number of main highways. Many parts(nearly all) of Avery Ranch could get to Holy Family in 10 minutes or less! There's also the new Pearson Place(not sure if you can find many 5 BR to be built there) going up nearly on Neenah(rumor that Neenah will cut through to the neighborhood).

Our Avery Ranch home is a Drees and we're very happy with the build quality. There are actually a couple of homes in our neighborhood(Brookside) that would likely work for you(sorry I don't have any particulars).

Good luck with your search. I'm not a RE person, but would be happy to offer more info on the area if the opinion of someone your parents' age(+-) would be helpful.

We live in the Ranch at Brushy Creek in a Drees house so I'm biased. If you are here the 27th, you can meet a lot of us at our fall festival.

Drees makes a really nice house, great built quality, my favorite of the builders. Standard Pacific is a nice house not quite as nice as Drees but I'm biased. SP have been around for quite some time and I have a couple of friends that own SP houses, they are pleased.

Sarita Valley is pretty far out and the community with be very small when completed.

If you go on Realtor.com and put zipcode 78717 ( where Holy family is located) and 5 bedrooms, you will get over 200 listings with in 5 miles. Narrow the field by your price point and you will still have lots to choose from. As an Avery Ranch resident I will tell you that a significant portion of my neighbors do attend HF schools AND another large percent use the after school Religous Education program.

I live in Walsh Trails, which backs up to Ranch at Brushy Creek - great neighborhood but with you having kids, you would probably prefer Ranch at Brushy Creek because of their amenities. Standard Pacific is doing a HUGE amount of building in the new section that goes behind our neighborhood all the way to Brushy Creek Road. We cut through R@BC on a daily basis to get to Parmer and it always looks nice, with well-maintained yards and houses. The location can't be beat to get to HEB, pretty much any shopping you would want, and soon to be a new Cedar Park CostCo! Round Rock is easily accessible too, but traffic can be congested at times if you have to travel east and especially across I-35. Good luck with the move!

Thank you for the feedback! We will be in Austin next week and will definitely be looking at these areas.

I spoke to a Grand Haven Builder today and looking forward to checking out some of their floor plans in Brushy Creek.

Also, interested in learning more about Pearson Place at Avery Ranch & Twin Creeks.
