Hi--Looking for a residential lead inspector (or inspection company) to conduct a test for lead paint in our Austin home.

Any recommendations would be much appreciated. Thanks!

You can look to The Texas Department Of State Health Services (TDSHS) WEB site at Environmental Lead Program: . TDSHS regulates the environmental lead program in Texas which includes licensing lead Inspectors and abatement companies. They provide a listing of lead Inspectors that you can use.

If you prefer to perform the sampling yourself you can check with local environmental testing laboratories in your area. The TDSHS also has a list for the mold program that are required to be licensed and many of those also perform lead analysis on samples. Call those near you and see if they will accept samples and what they require for sampling. Some may accept samples for you.

Another option is to speak with your primary care physician, Pediatrician is better, who will also most likely have additional information on laboratories for you.
