Well THAT 'splains it.
You lived in South Austin? No wonder you didn't think it was all that diverse. Had you lived in North Austin you would have seen a MUCH different picture. I've lived in North Austin since you made your original post, and I can attest to it being extremely diverse... not only racially but culturally and socio-economically.
