Please tell me this is a hoax:

Round Rock pitches Major League team | KXAN.com

Come on, we got something good with RR Express, let's not louse it up with a money draining MLB team that wants a new stadium built with taxpayer money every 15 years.

Do y'all thing Round Rock is overreaching?

I don't think it is a hoax. But just because RR wants a team has nothing to do with whether or not it could happen. MLB hasn't expanded in a long time. So that means a team would have to want to move to RR. The article is a bit comical in that they don't seem to have any plan for a stadium - they say the Dell Diamond might be too small. Might be????

I don't think we have enough population to fill the stadium and there are two teams close by.

They're talking to Nolan Ryan about a major league team in Central Texas.

That's really profoundly stupid.

Well, the odds of that happening are extremely long.

There hasn't been a new MLB team since 1998 (please correct me if I'm wrong), which indicates to me that expansion is not a high priority for them. And it is hard to imagine Round Rock voters going for an expensive bond to pay for a stadium.

Well, he's already got a presence at Dell Diamond... his sandwich counter all the way around at the end.
