I can't remember, but I notice online that Zilker is charging $15 for parking to check out "The Trail of Lights". Has it always been that much? From what I remember it used to be free.

What the heck?

~ Oh that's right, gas prices are down but electrictiy is still high. Somebody has to pay the bill for all those lights!

You don't want to drive there regardless. We tried to go Sunday night but it was probably a 45-60 minute backup to get to the park from Mopac. It was insane. If we go next weekend, we'll do the shuttle from Waterloo Park.

Oh there's signs out there saying $15 parking. I pass all of them up when I get to work off barton springs / lamar area.

You may have to pay to park nearby but it's free to walk the trail of lights.

I guess the high price for parking right inside Zilker is to deter people from trying to drive into the park.

You can get a shuttle bus for $3 adult/$1 kids round trip.

We paid the $15 and got there early. I didn't feel like doing the shuttle with the stroller and baby accessories. We enjoyed it... Didn't have to sit in any traffic. Guess we went about 6pm this last Tuesday.

Isn't it wind powered?

It's the best commercial type Xmas light display I've seen.

Bumping this up. We are going to be doing the Trail of Lights 5K but not sure where to park, get on shuttle, etc.
