A co-worker rented out a room in her house to a couple of guys from GA, but they were friends of friends, not complete strangers. She said it went great, that there were really nice people and they had a great time.

One of my friends in Tarrytown rented out a room to this couple from London. I didn't ask how much they charged b/c I thought that would be nosy, but I have a good imagination.

I've heard $800/night in 78702 for a small, redone house. They were also in the process of getting the STR permit.

Rented house out in 78745 for $2500/wk. 8 people (4 couples) from Spain. Other than some turf damage in the front yard from parking issues, everything went smoothly and they were great to work with. They've already asked to book the house for next year's F1 race, and possibly the MotoGP event in April.

Probably could have gotten a lot more, but it's what I thought was fair and was for a full week's rental.
