I like to be close to eveything maybe downtown? I dont know where to start looking! Help!! What would be a good area to move in? Does anyone have an amazing realtor that can help me find the perfect apartment? I will not be able to go before i move soi need someone i can trust to be my eyes and have my best interest.

What's your price range, what are you looking for in an apartment, and what constitutes "everything" for you? The answers to those questions will help us be more helpful to you.

Im not sure what my budget is because I think miami is much more expensive, how much would be an apt on an area with lots of restaurants, shops, bars, close to everything, hopefully a 1/1 no carpet, with all appliances including washer and dryer in-unit? I have a dog is a cocker spaniel... I was thinking around $1000- $1200? Is that too much? I am young and single so i want to be where the nightlife is but a safe place too.

Thank you!

Draw a box bordered by Oltorf, Mopac, MLK and I-35 (maybe even stretch a bit east of 35 if you want the hipster/artsy scene. 1000-1200 will give you options, but certainly won't be "too much".

Right, just out of curiosity, I checked out the 1 bedroom prices for AMLI Downtown and Gables West Avenue downtown apartments as those are a couple of the places that look really nice when driving by/walking around down there and those run between $1400 to $1800 per month for 1 bedrooms.

I'm sure that you can find a nice place in your price range, but it might not be right in downtown. There are other areas near downtown that should fit your price range nicely if you don't want to pay more.

The Triangle is still fairly close to downtown and would fit what you're looking for as well.

too much? not in this town.

You can probably find something for that - but it won't be right downtown or in a brand new building. Look for older central units that were well built buy have filtered down.

1000-1200 is plenty if you are willing to get a roommate and live in a 2br.
